Wayne O’Bryon, Founder
Paul W. O’Bryon, “Wayne,” graduated from South Broward High School in 1957 and went directly on to serve a four-year apprenticeship with the Local 223 of The Sheet Metal Union in Miami becoming a Journeyman, Class A Mechanic. After four years Wayne became a Job Superintendent for two air conditioning contractors in Freeport, Bahamas, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL from 1964 to 1970. He then opened his own air conditioning business in 1970 and served successfully as owner/operator until 1975 when he sold the business. Wayne then went on to become Vice President and General Manager for three large Air Conditioning Contractors from 1975-1991. In March of 1991, he formed Preferred Air Conditioning & Mechanical, Inc. For the next 20 years, he continued to be an active and well-known member of the HVAC industry. At the age of 72, he passed away on March 21, 2013, while in Las Vegas with his sons to accept a national award on behalf of the company he was so very proud of in so many ways. Wayne created the high standards all of our employees are still proud to uphold today and pass forward to our Preferred Air Conditioning & Mechanical customers.
Donald O’Bryon, President
Donald O’Bryon graduated from Boca Raton High School in 1983. While in high school, he worked at his father’s sheet metal shop, O’Bryon & Sons Sheet Metal, after school and during his summer breaks. He also worked the summer break of his senior year at another air conditioning company, learning the trade. In 1985 he attended Palm Beach County Community College, working toward a degree in mechanical engineering at night and doing installations and service for another contractor during the day. He graduated from the Carrier technical service training course in 1987, where he had learned and practiced operation, design, service, repair, and installation of residential and commercial HVAC equipment. Donald was the field supervisor for a major air conditioning company from 1987 to 1991. He joined his father as Vice-President for Preferred Air Conditioning & Mechanical, Inc. in 1991 where he continues to be a major force in the industry here in South Florida.
Robert W., Design Department
Robert graduated from Martin County High School; he then attended FAU and Palm Beach Community College where he earned his degree in Mechanical Drafting. In his 20 year tenure in this industry, Robert has worked with some of the area’s largest HVAC contractors, designing HVAC for residential homes and commercial buildings. His designs are superior and show his knowledge and dedication to this industry. He joined Preferred Air Conditioning and Mechanical in 2003, where he has designed thousands of systems that we have installed.
Holly G., Service Manager
Originally from Attica, NY, Holly moved to Florida and graduated from Lake Worth High School. She began working at a new home construction company from 1996 to 1999. In 1999 she moved to Northeastern Ohio and started working as the Service Manager for a large residential HVAC contractor. In March, 2003, Holly returned to Florida where she joined Preferred Air Conditioning and Mechanical, Inc. Nearly seven years later she still continues to enjoy the job she does and the wonderful customers who have become friends.
Beau O’Bryon, PSL Branch Manager
A Florida native, Beau O’Bryon attended Boca Raton High School. He attended multiple AC and refrigeration classes at North Tech in Riviera Beach and South Tech in Boynton Beach. Over the next 15 years he worked as shop fabricator, apprentice and installer. Beau joined Preferred Air Conditioning & Mechanical in 2000 and was quickly promoted to branch manager in our Port Saint Lucie Branch.
Nicole R., PSL Office Manager
Nicole, a Florida native, attended Piper High School in Sunrise, Florida. She also attended State Community College in Ft. Pierce, FL. Nicole joined the Preferred family in June of 2007.
